Things to consider before you call:
- What is the nature of your assignment (speech, brochure, article, etc.)
- Who is the intended audience?
- What is the goal of the project? (What should the result be?)
- How long do you expect the work to be, either in words, or, in the case of a speech, minutes? (A typical magazine article is 1,000 to 2,000 words. Speeches average about 125 words per minute.)
- What background materials can you make available?
- Will the project require conducting interviews, and, if so, with whom? Also, can they be done by phone?
- Will the project require travel? If so, where and when?
- What is your deadline for having the project completed?

Pricing is dependent upon the nature of the assignment. Projects may be priced on a per-word or a project basis.
